does anyone else us it??

I have been 'told' that it will ruin and dry out my dd hair [smilie=017.gif]

but they couldn't explain why.:dunno[1]:

DD has long thick blonde hair and shampoo alone leaves her hair very very hard to get a brush through and strawlike.

When fostered, we took in a little girl whos hair was in an awful state and had nits, startd conditioning her hair and it made a massive difference, so soft, shiny and no more nits.

I also use it for the same reasons as my DD and my hair is also in good condition.

am i missing something?

My DD has very fine hair and i use conditioner once in every 4/5 washes on average just because it gets so nest like at the back where she lays on it...it flattens and smooths it back down.

It depends on what their hair is like i think, i wouldn't use it all the time though, just as i don't on my own hair either (my hair is very long and very thick too)...

it shouldnt cause any problems at all in fact loreal do conditioner for kids and johnsons do conditioner for babies.

our hair has fine scales on it and all the conditioner does is flatten these scales, making the hair smoother.

just use the right one for her hair type

If shampoo is Ok I'm sure conditioner is.  In fact using conditioner and combing through is the tried-and-tested method for getting rid of nits.

Conditioner is designed to make hair silky and manageable.  If it dried hair out people wouldn't use it.

My 4 yr old daughter ha long blonde hair, and I use a hair mask (jut a very rich conditioning treatment) once a week.  Childrens hair is exposed to the elements just as much or possibly more than adults, so it needs looking after.  Using conditioner can also prevent nits as it smooths the hair shaft and the nits have nothing to grip and just slide down the hair.  Our hairdresser also recommends it, and always comments on the lovely condition and shine of her hair.

I use the anti nit conditioner on LO's hair and it makes it nice and shiney looking so why not!

I think its all a bit silly saying you should use it. I have conidtioner in my hair everyday and it doesnt dry it out. what aload of poop!

I can't see how conditioner could dry hair out [smilie=017.gif] I have to use it on DD's mop just to be able to get a comb through it

I suppose if the child has quite fine hair using conditioner could weigh it down and make it greasy.
